FoodMeOmaha declares Stella’s Bar & Grill as one of the top burger joints in the Omaha area. My good friend and fellow foodie, Zoenonymous, highly recommended this place and couldn’t get us to go soon enough. On Saturday, July 16th, a hungry group of friends went to Stella’s for lunch.
Stella’s Bar and Grill has a great, local vibe filled with a crowd of eaters. It’s a busy place and does not take reservations. We waited about 25 minutes for a table of six. Once seated the service was pretty quick. Our waitress was friendly and efficient.
We started out with a basket of fried shrimp as an appetizer. The fried shrimp had a nice, crispy outer layer. A yummy appetizer to whet our appetite.

All of us ordered our own custom burger. As described on the menu, Stella’s serves “World Famous Stella Burgers: 6 1/2 ounce, hand-pressed fresh (never frozen) ground beef patty, served on a bun with lettuce, tomato, pickles, onions & mayo, served on a napkin.” You can personalize your burger with extra ingredients from jalapenos to peanut butter.
I ordered a cheeseburger with pepper jack cheese and a fried egg for my first World Famous Stella Burger. The burger is taller than my mouth so I squished the burger, cut it in half, and then savored the burger bite by bite. This burger is simple goodness of juicy, real meat, gooey, over-easy egg (just the way I like it), and melted cheese balanced with the fresh tomato, crispy lettuce and pickles, and soft bun. Delicious.

You can take the Stella Burger to the next level and double it up. Here are some salivating pictures of double cheeseburgers ordered by the guys.
We also ordered Stella Fries, Sweet Potato Waffle Fries, and Home-Cooked Kettle-Style Potato Chips to accompany the epic burgers.
The Stella Fries were too soft, greasy, and bland for my taste.

- Price: $2.00

The sweet potato waffle fries had a nice, sweet potato taste.

The homemade kettle chips are awesome. The kettle-style potato chips are by far tastier than both the Stella fries and sweet potato waffle fries. It has a freshly made potato chip heartiness with a crunch that complemented the burger. I enjoyed the eating sequence of a couple of bites of burger followed by crunchy chip, then repeat.
